Overview

The department of Obstetrics and Gynecology provides a wide range of healthcare services that meet the needs of women through all the stages of life, starting from pre-conception planning and pregnancy to menopause and beyond. At every stage, we offer personalized care across a comprehensive range of obstetric and gynaecological services. The gynaecology services include care for all disorders of the female reproductive system, emergency gynaecological surgery and educative and supportive services for all the needs of a woman.
The primary objective of the institute is to promote the health of women by providing them complete support, care and empathy.

The obstetric care includes management of both routine and high-risk pregnancies, prenatal diagnosis and treatment. Specialized care for high-risk pregnancies is provided with doctors and qualified nurses available round the clock. High-risk pregnancy may affect the life of the mother or lead to miscarriage or other pregnancy complications. Women at risk should seek care and treatment at a reputed high-risk pregnancy hospital to secure the life of themselves and their unborn children. The hospitals provide all the required assistance and treatment to reduce the risks associated with pregnancy and ensure the safe delivery of the baby. A lot of health issues like high blood pressure, obesity and diabetes lead to a high-risk pregnancy. These complications not only put the mother’s life at risk but the child as well. 

The department also runs an infertility unit that assists couples who want to become parents but for medical reasons have been unable to achieve this goal via the natural course. We look at both males and females for diagnosis of fertility problems. Investigations may include various blood tests, hormonal tests, follicular studies and hystero-salpingography (HSG) and hystero-laparoscopy. Treatment may include ovulation induction, surgical interventions, artificial insemination, such as intrauterine insemination (IUI), or the use of a sperm donor.
